¹In a beginning God created the skies and the land.

²And the land was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved on the face of the waters.

³And God said, Let there be light; and there was light.

⁴And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness.

⁵And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the 1st day.

⁶And God said, Let there be a firmament in the middle of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

¹¹And God said, Let the land bring forth vegetation, the herb yielding seed after its kind, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after its kind, in which is their seed, on the land; and it was so.

¹²And the land brought forth vegetation, the herb yielding seed after its kind, and the tree bearing fruit, in which is its seed, after its kind; and God saw that it was good.

¹³And there was evening and there was morning, the 3rd day.

¹⁴And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the skies to separate the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.

¹⁵And let them be for lights in the firmament of the skies to give light on the land; and it was so.

¹⁶And God made 2 great lights, the greater light to rule the day, and the smaller light to rule the night; and also the stars.
